Alia Johnson

Growing up in a family of musicians ranging from opera singers to Irish fiddlers, Alia’s love of music was unavoidable. She started playing piano at the age of five, eventually learning the violin, marimba, and banjo. After discovering her passion of composing for visual media, she went on to earn her bachelor’s in composition from California Institute of the Arts in 2019 with an emphasis in film scoring. 
 
As the assistant to a composer in Los Angeles for two years, Alia found herself drawn to the world of music production. Now at APM, her interests come full circle. When she’s not writing music, you can find her baking, watching musicals, or working on a puzzle.
