What is production music?

Production music is pre-recorded music specifically composed for use by producers for audio-visual productions, including film, television, video games, websites, commercials, corporate productions and more.

Why production music?

Producers and editors use production music because it offers unique features such as having a large collection of music from which to choose, the automatic availability of every track in the library, and rates far below those of commercially released music or custom scoring. Searching, auditioning, and selecting production music is a simple process: you get exactly the music you need, with both master and synchronization rights cleared in one step. By comparison, if you wanted to use commercially released music in your production, you would have to negotiate fees both with the music copyright owner and with the record company, assuming the rights were available.
