2. How much does it cost to use your music?

The APM Music rate schedule is available from an APM Music Account Executive. The fees outlined in the schedule are based on the type of production, the specific rights needed for the production and the number of times music is used. These fees reflect charges on a per-project basis. For clients anticipating a high volume of music usage with APM Music, we suggest that you review your projected music needs with your APM Account Executive so that we may custom tailor an annual licensing package for you.

8. Are your CDs available for personal use?

The APM Music library is a professional library of music available for a fee for editing and synchronization into audio and audio/visual productions. Over the years, we have received many requests from the public asking if our tracks are available on iTunes and other such sites for personal listening, not for editing into a production. In response to these requests, we have selected some of our tracks and have put them up onto iTunes and other similar sites. It is important however, that we are clear about the different rights being granted:

  1. Personal listening-If you find one of our songs on a legal download site (such as iTunes, Amazon MP3, et al) and wish to download that song for personal listening into your iPod, iPhone or some other MP3 device, you may do so once you have paid the fees to that site. This download does not convey any synchronization rights and the copy of the file downloaded cannot be used to edit into a production.
  2. Synchronization-If you wish to use one of our tracks in an audio or audio/visual production, you may do so, subject to having an agreement with us. Once you have a synchronization agreement with us, you may download tracks from our website at www.apmmusic.com/myapm and use the tracks in your productions, subject to whatever limitations of use may be in your agreement.

9. I USED LOOPS, SOUND FX OR MUSIC FROM AN APPLE PRODUCT, DO I NEED TO PAY YOU OR REPORT THIS IN A CUE SHEET?  OR, COULD I GET YOUR HELP WITH QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TRACKS?

No. Even though we created some of the tracks featured in iMovie, Final Cut Pro and Garage Band, these tracks are owned by Apple. It is our understanding that these tracks are not registered with any society anywhere in the world and that you are free to use them without any payment to anyone. If you need further information, please consult the user agreement contained within the Apple product in which you found the tracks. If you have questions about the products mentioned above, please contact Apple directly.

10. I'm a composer and I would like to submit my music. How can I do this?

Thank you for your interest in writing music for APM. While we are the licensing agent for our various libraries, we are not generally involved in the actual music production. Because of this, we suggest that all composers send their inquiries and submissions directly to the addresses of our individual libraries who are active in the United States in production.
