David Buckley is a film and TV composer. From his LA studio he has completed scores for Town Creek (Joel Schumacher/Lionsgate), Tell-Tale (Ridley Scott and Tony Scott/Scott Free), and The Forbidden Kingdom (Rob Minkoff/Lionsgate). His soundtrack for The Forbidden Kingdom is attracting masses of enthusiastic attention for its dazzling mix of Eastern and Western sounds.

The highly acclaimed Warner Bros. recent release The Town, directed by Ben Affleck features the pensive and thrilling original score written by David Buckley and Harry Gregson-Williams.

David works in a wide range of musical styles: classical, historic, ambient, electronic, choral and ethnic. He's equally at home with a large-scale symphony orchestra as he is scoring from his Santa Monica studio. He has contributed to a number of Harry Gregson-Williams' scores, including Shrek the Third (DreamWorks SKG), Gone Baby Gone (Miramax), Flushed Away (DreamWorks SKG/Aardman), The Number 23 (New Line Cinema), The Revenge (Scott Free), and Jolene. He has also contributed music to the Playstation game: Metal Gear Solid 4, and the TV show: Shrek the Halls.

David Buckley's involvement with film music began as a cathedral chorister performing on Peter Gabriel's score for Martin Scorsese's The Last Temptation of Christ, and it was while he was a student at Cambridge University that he discovered his vocation as a composer of powerful and emotive music.

In an interview on the Tracksounds website, David notes: "During my time at college, I realized that I was most interested in music that had a melodic appeal to it, something that was a little more accessible than the dry and academic music written by many of my contemporaries. By the time I finished my degree, I realized that the skills I had learned were only of interest to me on a technical level, but not an emotional one. I was far more interested in writing what I felt, rather than subscribing to a particular school of composition. I guess it sounds a little pretentious, but what I enjoy most is telling stories through the medium of music."
